Commissioning Custom Memorial Art

We guide you respectfully and directly through the commissioning process. Below is the step-by-step timeline of how a pinch of ash is transformed into an heirloom glass creation.

Step 1. Choose Your Design

Browse our current collections of pendants, star sculptures, or solid paperweights. Select the shape, size, and quantity. You can submit custom color requests (e.g. cobalt blue, warm gold, aqua teal) during your inquiry.

Step 2. Request an Ash Collection Kit

Once we receive your initial inquiry, we mail you an **Ash Collection Kit**. This includes a small, sterile container, a measuring scoop (1/2 teaspoon), a secure sealable bag, and a pre-labeled shipping container.

Step 3. Ship Using USPS Priority Express

Place the measured remains in the double-bagged failsafe pouch and mail it to our Girdwood, Alaska studio. Remember: by law, you must use **USPS Priority Mail Express** with **Signature Required** and the orange **Label 139**.

Step 4. Work at the Furnace

Upon arrival, the ashes are labeled with your unique Order ID. Darby schedules your piece for crafting. We follow a strict safety protocol where only one customer's project is handled at the bench at a time. The ashes are permanently fused at 2,100°F and kiln-annealed for 12+ hours.

Step 5. Safe Return Delivery

Your finished glass art is wrapped securely. Any unused cremation remains are carefully collected and returned back to you alongside your crystals. We ship the package via insured, trackable delivery.
